Salute to Education: Supporting Future Leaders

At Chula Vista Ford, we are proud to support the San Diego County Salute to Education program for 2024-2025. This corporate-sponsored scholarship program, funded by San Diego County Ford dealers and Ford Motor Company, is dedicated to empowering high school seniors to pursue higher education at vocational/technical schools, junior colleges, or universities.

Encouraging Students to Apply

Chula Vista Ford invites all eligible high school seniors in San Diego County to apply for this life-changing scholarship. In addition to receiving scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $1,500, select recipients will have the extraordinary opportunity to win a brand-new Ford vehicle, generously provided by Chula Vista Ford.

Investing in Education for Over 27 Years

Since its inception, the San Diego County Salute to Education program has awarded nearly $4.9 million in scholarships to over 4,600 local high school seniors. Each recipient has received scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $1,500, with 32 fortunate scholars also receiving a brand-new Ford vehicle. These contributions reflect our commitment to making education accessible and supporting the dreams of young leaders in our community.

A Tradition of Excellence

Salute to Education began in 1993 as a pilot program in San Antonio, Texas, and has since expanded to Texas, Florida, and San Diego County. San Diego County remains the only region in California participating in this impactful initiative, showcasing the dedication of Ford dealers to enhancing educational opportunities locally.

Eligibility and Selection

San Diego County Salute to Education is open to high school seniors who:

• Reside in San Diego County.
• Attend an accredited public or private school in participating areas.

Scholarship recipients are carefully selected in March by an advisory council comprising educators, community leaders, and program participants. Personal achievements, contributions to schools and communities, and academic performance are considered, though academic achievement is not the sole determining factor.

Commitment to Fairness

The San Diego County Salute to Education program awards scholarships on an objective and nondiscriminatory basis. The program does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national or ethnic origin, religion, or sexual orientation. Family members of employees or directors involved in the program do not receive preferential treatment, ensuring a fair and transparent selection process.
